Life! is supporting community groups throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are running group courses and healthy living sessions online via Zoom and webinars until further notice.

Life! is a free evidence-based healthy lifestyle program available to Victorians at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Supported by the Victorian Government and coordinated by Diabetes Victoria, the program is delivered by expert health professionals and teaches participants how to live healthier lives and reduce their risk of chronic disease.

Life! has a range of offerings available and we can tailor a package to suit your community’s needs.

Interested in improving the health and well-being of your community? Book a Healthy Living Session today and help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Our Healthy Living Sessions are a free service offered by the Life! program and organised at a time and location that best suit your community. These sessions run for approximately 30- 45 minutes and are delivered by a trained health professional covering topics such as:

  • What is diabetes, heart disease and stroke?
  • Healthy eating and weight control;
  • Physical activity;
  • Reducing stress in daily life; and
  • An introduction to Life! — a free healthy lifestyle program.

As part of the session, attendees will have the opportunity to complete an AUSDRISK test (Australian type 2 diabetes risk assessment tool), which determines their risk of type 2 diabetes.

Organise a Life! group course for your community

Do you want to take it a step further? We can deliver a Life! group course to your community group or organisation while working closely with you to plan and promote all activities.

Throughout the course participants will learn more about nutrition, physical activity, sleep, managing stress, setbacks and goal setting. The group course comprises seven sessions which will equip participants with the skills, knowledge, support and expert advice needed to adopt healthier lifestyle habits, with the aim of reducing their risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
